Widely considered to be one of the leading figures in modern football management on account of his attacking blueprint, he is well respected within the global game and is regarded as one of the top-performing tacticians. He currently coaches the Portuguese national team, with whom he lifted the 2025 UEFA Nations League crown .

He managed Portugal national team, and previously he managed the Belgian national team, who he led to a historic third place at the 2018 World Cup Russia, where the Red Devils finished the tournament as the leading scorers. Since October 2018, his side have led the FIFA world ranking. 

Prior to occupying the Belgium hotseat, he managed in the Premier League, where he coached some storied clubs, including Swansea City, Wigan Athletic, who he led to FA Cup glory in 2013, and Everton. 

He currently serves as Ajax’s Technical Director and Assessor at the Football Association of Indonesia. 

He served as the sporting director at FC Barcelona (2021-22 & 2022-23) after having called time on his spell in charge at Chinese outfit Shenzhen FC. In previous positions, he managed Chinese Super League side Chongqing Dangdai Lifan and Maccabi Tel-Aviv, where he also occupied the director of football role and installed a European methodology and playing style which saw the Israeli outfit secure a Champions League spot. He has also had a taste of international management after having served as manager of Ecuador.

During his playing days, he starred for Barcelona, Manchester United, Alavés, where he lined up in the UEFA Cup final, and Espanyol, amongst others. 

He is the guardian of the legacy of his father, Johan Cruyff. 

World Cup winner with the Spanish national team—where he’s currently the technical director of development and the men’s senior national team at the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The former player, coach and UEFA technical observer has managed some iconic clubs within the English game, including Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest, whilst he masterminded Middlesbrough’s promotion to the top flight. He also served as assistant manager at Real Madrid during a period when Los Blancos claimed league and Copa del Rey glory after having previously coached the Spain U-16 side and earning the admiration of those at the Spanish Football Federation.

During his playing days, he was a commanding presence for Athletic Club and Real Madrid, with whom he captured a trio of European Cup crowns.

On top of that, he runs the AK Coaches World summit, which brings together football’s elite, and the AK Academy, a youth training camp for boys and girls.

One of the best sporting directors in European football thanks to his work at top-tier clubs such as Villarreal, AS Monaco, Hope Group (Granada, Parma, Chongqing, and Tondela), Olympiacos, and Real Betis.

Some of his most notable signings include top-level names such as Kilian Mbappé, Bernardo Silva, Diego Godín, Giuseppe Rossi, Santi Cazorla, Bruno Soriano, Gerard Moreno, Isco, Fabinho, Benjamin Mendy, Marc Bartra, and many more.

In his most recent role as professional football director at Sevilla FC, he led a comprehensive sporting and financial transformation.

The Cruyff Foundation serves to keep the legacy of football legend Johan Cruyff alive. Founded by the FC Barcelona and Ajax icon 25 years ago, the organisation, which has become a leading international institution, supports and leads sports projects for children across the globe through its unique and differential initiatives, such as the Cruyff Courts, of which there are almost 300 around the world, and Patio14. 

The Cruyff Foundation uses sport as the main tool to promote inclusion and development amongst the youngest members of our society with a view to instilling values, and receives unanimous respect for its activities and outreach work. 

A Portuguese coach with vast managerial experience in his homeland. He was coaching Olympiacos, Celta Vigo, after enjoying a successful spell with Braga, who he led to Taça de Portugal glory. He enjoyed previous stints at clubs including Rio Ave, Sporting CP, Belenenses and Vitoria Setúbal. 

He steered Besiktas to the Europa League quarter-finals, before securing a move to England, where he led Sheffield Wednesday to play-off finishes in consecutive seasons and managed Swansea in the Premier League. 

He has made regular appearances as a pundit both in Portugal and England, where he has featured many times on Sky Sports shows and match broadcasts, Eleven Sports and LaLigaTV. 

He’s currently managing Famalicão. 

After learning his trade in the Sevilla academy, he shot to prominence with Héctor Cúper’s Mallorca, who contested the 1999 Cup Winners’ Cup final, and was an iconic member of Arsène Wenger’s Invincibles side. He boasts excellent knowledge of the African game and particular expertise on football in Cameroon, with whom he twice lifted the Africa Cup of Nations and claimed gold at the 2000 Olympics.

These achievements saw him appointed as FIFA technical expert for football development in the African continent. 

He has strong punditry experience after having offered his insight into LaLiga for Sky Sports with Guillem Balagué, the BBC, Gol TV and LaLigaTV, as well as having appeared on ITV, Channel Four and Eurosport (Africa Cup of Nations). He was also part of the South African broadcaster Kwesé ESPN’s team for the FIFA World Cup. 

He’s a top-tier Spanish sporting director known for getting big results on a shoestring budget. He spent a decade running the show at Eibar (2011–2021), pulling off a historic promotion to La Liga and turning serious profits through sharp scouting and player sales across seven straight seasons in the top flight. After that, he worked as a technical advisor alongside Julen Lopetegui at Wolverhampton Wanderers during the 2022/23 season.

In June 2023, he took over at Espanyol to kick off a complete overhaul—bringing in smart, logical signings, backing the youth academy, and modernizing the club during one of its lowest points both on the pitch and in the bank. In just three seasons, he delivered on every single goal: getting promoted, staying up, and cementing the project while leaving a solid foundation for the future.

His style is all about boosting player value, modernizing operations, and taking good care of the people—from the squad and coaching staff to their families. His track record speaks for itself, earning him a reputation as a savvy manager who knows how to build sustainable, long-term projects without breaking the bank.

A coach with outstanding pedigree in the English game, he is the only foreign manager to have twice achieved promotion to the Premier League after having guided Fulham and Watford, to the promised land. His latest managerial position there was at Sheffield United, a club he joined after having coached Qatar’s Al Gharafa, where he was named as one of the leading coaches in the Qatari top flight. He was previously in charge at Maccabi Tel-Aviv during Jordi Cruyff’s spell as director of football and guided the club to the Champions League following an 11-year exodus. 

He is a familiar face to Spanish football fans after having spent time during his playing career with Radomir Antić’s Oviedo, whilst he reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals with Tenerife and captured the league title with Deportivo La Coruña, before going on to star for Chelsea. He represented Yugoslavia at international level. 

A legendary player for FC Barcelona and the Spain national team, she captained the greatest-ever Barça side, lifted the team’s first Champions League crown and paved the way for the Azulgranas to establish themselves at the top table of world football. 

She scored Spain’s first-ever World Cup goal (at the 2015 finals) and was one of the players who laid the foundations for the current crop. During her career, she has represented Manchester City, Arsenal, Roma, the New York Flash and Brighton. She currently plies her trade for Badalona Women.
